Saturday Scribes Writing Prompt: July 18th

Trying something a little different today.  You might notice that there are two bonus words, below.  As usual, you can choose to write on either the theme, the word prompts, or both, as you see fit. However, as an extra added incentive for this week, anyone who manages to work both the theme and all five words into their writing will get a splendiferous banner of accomplishment that they can proudly display on their website of choice.  Now, if that doesn’t totally geek you out, I don’t know what will.  Have fun!  Oh – and please remember to include the permalink to your post when you comment.  Thanks!

Theme: Serendipity

Three Words:
candle
speaker
emblem

Bonus Words
Byzantine
zeppelin

Hi Michelle, nice to see you back again.

Just a reminder to everyone, if you copy and paste the permalink for your post (see edit above), it’ll work, whereas trying to include html tags in your comment may not.

As so often happens when writing late at night, I got a little carried away with this one:

Just how lucky, or unlucky, can one lone asteroid miner be . . .

This is more of an essay than a story. Pretty silly. Tough to fit it all those words!

Take 1 theme, add in 5 prompts, and a splash of artistic license, mix well, and bake in a word processor for a few hours.  End result?  The serendipitous tale of an archaeologist, who is accidentally saved from having to discus a candle holder with the most annoying speaker on the planet, by a mysterious emblem, and the mighty Byzantine Empire, whilst listening to Led Zeppelin :-p

So, yeah, erm… I kind of wrote another one *hides*

Big thanks to ellefire for accidently supplying me with a Plot Bunny. I don’t know if this is any good or not, because its 1:30am and I wrote it really fast. This is a chapter, as the story will be continued, because I’m going to attempt something a little crazy. Eeep!

Well, I enjoyed doing this last week, so I had another go at it this week. I managed to get all five words and a slightly askew version of the theme in there.

So this has to be one of the strangest things to come out of my impacted cranium in recent memory. It’s not that *strange* strange…it’s just that I don’t really have an inkling of where it came from.
