Saturday Scribes Writing Prompt: June 27

Yes, it’s that time again – time for the Saturday Scribes weekly prompt!  If you’ve been here before, you know what to do.  If you’re new – welcome!  Prompt guidelines can be found in the links on the left-hand side, under “What we’re all about”.

Theme: Water
Maybe it’s all the rain and humidity we’ve been having lately, but I’ve definitely got water on my mind this week.  As usual, you can feel free to interpret the theme any way you want.

Three Words:
   Doorway
   Cinnamon
   Paperclip
Remember: all three words have to appear in your writing somewhere. That said, any form of creative writing is fair game, and you can use the words any way you see fit.

Anne Bradley has parts 2&3 of her “Poem in Three Movements” up on the Mimosa Effect:

(The first part was “Fracture”, posted last week. Having realized that she originally only used one of the three words in the three-word prompt, AB has since rectified the matter.) 😉

I have to say I’m impressed with how a number of folks managed to include both the theme *and* all three words in their writing this week, but I thought I’d point out that you don’t *have* to include both – just in case that wasn’t clear. Although you get extra brownie points if you do. 😉 What can you do with extra brownie points? Ummm… feel smugly self-satisfied? Put it towards your eternal quest to stockpile ficitional digital brownies?

Keep up the good work, everyone – I’m thoroughly enjoying how each writer has their own unique take on the prompts each week. Let’s keep this thing going!

A bit after the fact but here’s an entry encompassing the last two prompts…
